LS ELECTRIC selected as one of the top 100 global innovative companies for 10th consecutive year

LS ELECTRIC was selected as one of the top 100 global innovative companies by Clarivate, the world’s leading academic information service company, for the 10th consecutive year in recognition of its global competitiveness in intellectual property (IP).

LS ELECTRIC has been honored as one of the top 100 global innovators in the report recently released by Clarivate. The company announced that the trophy delivery ceremony attended by representatives of both companies—LS ELECTRIC CTO Kim Yeong-geun and the CEO of Clarivate Korea—was held at its R&D Campus in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do.

LS ELECTRIC introduces Battery Temperature Sensor (BTS) to prevent ESS fire

Generally, ESS battery manufacturers also provide temperature information. However, they operate by communication methods and battery-related information other than temperature integrated, which has made it difficult to focus on temperature information with details. Temperature measurements have been done at the rack level, which is a “completed goods” stage, and the measurements have recently extended to the segmented modules stage. However, in cases of overheating beyond a given temperature, when racks and modules are damaged, there are limitations to identify a clear cause of the overheating.

LS ELECTRIC wins the Railways Eastern Line’s signal system project in Thailand

LS ELECTRIC recently succeeded in winning additional projects amid the accelerated expansion of railway construction project in Thailand. After being selected as the contractor for modernization of the Northeastern Railway Lines, in the railway’s signal system markets in which major European businesses had played a leading role.

LS ELECTRIC succeeds in commissioning MMC STATCOM in Godeok Substation, Pyeongtaek

LS ELECTRIC installed MMC (Modular Multilevel Converter) and STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator), which are 3rd-generation Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS), in Godeok Substation, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do. The installation is expected to yield benefits by stabilizing a power supply to Godeok New Town, and Samsung Electronics in Pyeongtaek, which boasts to be the world’s largest single semiconductor manufacturing facility.

Recently, LS ELECTRIC announced that the facilities they supplied to Godeok Substation were functioning normally, having succeeded in a 30-day-long continuous commissioning and function tests under a variety of loading conditions.

LS ELECTRIC, Doosan and Hanwha forms business alliance of renewable power generation

The leaders of power generation, generator and finance of South Korea have rallied together to promote a new business model.

Last week, LS ELECTRIC announced a new MOU contract with Doosan Fuel Cell, Hanwha Power Systems, and Hanwha Asset Management. The ceremony was held at The Plaza Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul on August 12, promising mutual cooperation for the development of a new business opportunity.
